Itinerary
Tour Itinerary
Day 1. Shymbulak & Medeu
Start: 10:00 AM - Finish: ~5:00 PM - Pick-up from hotel Drive to Medeu, the world’s highest mountain skating rink Take the cable car to Shymbulak Ski Resort Explore the upper stations (1st, 2nd, and 3rd levels) with panoramic mountain views Optional: skiing, snowboarding, or café break at altitude Return to Almaty by evening Notes: Wear warm clothing and comfortable shoes; sunglasses are recommended due to snow glare.
Day 2. Almaty City Tour
Start: 10:00 AM - Finish: ~5:00 PM - Panfilov Park — visit the monument of the 28 Panfilov Guardsmen Ascension Cathedral (Zenkov Cathedral) — a unique wooden Orthodox church Green Bazaar — local fruits, nuts, sweets, and souvenirs Arbat Street — pedestrian art & shopping area Kok Tobe Hill — cable car ride, city view, Beatles monument, and café
Day 3. Charyn Canyon, Kolsay & Kaindy Lakes
Start: 6:30 AM - Finish: ~8:30–9:00 PM - Early departure to Charyn Canyon (“Valley of Castles”) — scenic walk & photo stops Continue to Saty Village for lunch or local café stop Visit Kolsay Lake — mountain lake surrounded by pine forest Optional: short boat ride or horse ride (additional cost) Continue off-road to Kaindy Lake (“Lake of the Sunken Forest”) by 4x4 jeep Return to Almaty in the evening Notes: Wear comfortable clothes and trekking shoes; Kaindy requires off-road transfer (4WD).
Day 4. Almarasan Hot Springs & Aiusay Gorge
Start: 9:30 AM - Finish: ~4:00 PM - Drive to Almarasan Gorge (mountain road ~30 min) Relax at Almarasan Hot Springs or enjoy a short trek to Aiusay waterfall Scenic picnic stop by the river Return to the city in the afternoon; free time in the evening Optional: Visit a mountain café with panoramic view (Tau Dastarkhan or Almarasan).
Day 5. Oi Qaragai (Lesnaya Skazka Resort)
Start: 9:00 AM - Finish: ~5:00 PM - Drive to Oi Qaragai Mountain Resort (~1 hour from Almaty) Explore alpine forest trails, rope park, zipline, and horse riding Enjoy local cuisine in a mountain restaurant Free time to relax or take cable cars for views Return to Airport to catuch the return flight Notes: Bring warm clothes and sports shoes; activities are available year-round.
